Do you like to use facial scrubs, but are concerned about chemical additives? You have good reason to be concerned. Chemicals in our soaps, shampoos and cosmetic products are absorbed through the skin, creating more toxins our bodies have to eliminate. Absorbed toxins can cause the same typed of problems as inhaled and ingested toxins.
Making your own, toxin free, facial scrub is easy, and you can customize the ingredients to suit your needs. Another selling point – it’s much less expensive to make your own than to buy a commercial product.
2 cups clay
1/4 cup ground almonds
2 TBS finely ground lavender
2 TBS poppy seeds (finely ground blue corn works well, too)
1 cup ground oats
2 TBS ground rose petals
a few drops of your favorite pure essential oil (optional)
Mix everything in a large glass jar with a lid. When you’re ready to use your facial scrub, take 1 or 2 teaspoons of this mixture and stir in enough distilled water to make a paste.
Rub over skin in small circular motions, as you would any other facial scrub. Rinse completely with pure warm water.
