If you’re looking for the quick and dirty answer to “Who is msquill”, then you’re in the right place.
I am Yvette Davis.. if you know me in the SCA, then you know me as Lasairiona inghean Talamh in the Kingdom of Meridies.
“So, who are you?”
Well, first and foremost, I’m a mom to 6 great kids. Some of them I gave birth to, and some of them are my step kids, but I am “MOM” to all of them, and in spite of the craziness that comes with raising six kids I wouldn’t have it any other way.
As for my career, I’ve been a writer for over 20 years. I’ve written countless magazine and web articles on homeschooling, parenting, and health, along with a variety of communication documents for businesses of all sizes. I’ve done a lot technical writing, a fair amount of ghost writing, and written a few speeches and authored two books : Web Geek’s Guide to Google Chrome (with Jerri Ledford), and Google Secrets.
Okay… so you’re a writer. What makes you qualified to write about natural health?
After I recovered from my major health issues (read about that on the page titled “My Story”) I went back to school and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Health. I also earned certificates as a Reiki Master and Teacher, Healing Touch Practitioner, and Master Herbalist. In 2011 I became an ordained minister, and I graduated with a Doctor of Naturopathy degree in 2013. In 2016 I will earn certification as a Primal Health Coach.
I must point out that I am not a licensed Naturopath in my state, but then, my state does not provide a path for Naturopths to become licensed.
Over the years, I’ve worked with many clients to help them improve their health and general well-being. And, of course, I continue to use natural health methods keep my Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis from progressing and to keep symptoms at bay. To that end, I’m always learning.
“How did you ever get into this?” ‘ It’s a question I’ve been asked more than once. The answer, while not simple, is straightforward. I started learning about natural health out of absolute necessity. If you want to read the long story of why I started studying natural health read My Story.
